Remember last week when I posted an Amnesty TV video on what it’s like to be a women in Saudi Arabia? Well, it just got worse.

Yesterday Jezebel reported that the Saudi Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (CPVPV) has recommend that women who have sexy eyes should cover those puppies up.

*headdesk*

Evidently, this all came about because a male committee member got into a fight with a man over the man’s wife’s sexy eyes. The man and woman were walking in public, and the committee member demanded that her eyes be covered. Pardon me while I clutch my pearls.

Really? It’s already law that women must cover their hair and wear long black dresses. So now women should cover their eyes, too? Mandatory sunglasses? Creepy contact lenses?

At this point, I sort of wonder why conservative Muslims think women were created. Wouldn’t it have just been easier for god to make a bunch immobile uteruses that The Honorable Man can impregnate from time to time? Why mess with all those thoughts and emotions and, you know, individualness?

Oh that’s right. Someone has to do all the fucking work.

If you can’t control your sexual urges when you see someone’s eyes, you just need to admit that you’re involved in some major kink. And it’s just further proof that there is no sacrifice too weird to be demanded of women, and when what you are is deemed inherently filthy, you literally cannot cover up enough.

I’m all for people covering up because they want to. But for men to try to mandate a dress code for the obvious purpose of evading responsibility for their own actions? That crosses a line. Seriously, people. WTF?
